A tailored path to find your inner harmony

Integrative counselling means that I will tailor my approach to working with you to best serve your needs, making it the perfect approach for anyone who is stuck and wants to explore their world in the safety of a therapeutic relationship.

The Counselling Process

Stage 01

Stage 02

Stage 03

Introductory call

A free, 30-minute telephone or video call providing the opportunity to determine if we are the right fit where we briefly discuss what is going on for you, how you hope therapy might help and to ask me questions about how I work.

In this session, I will ask you some key personal questions, assess your level of risk and collaborate on the initial focus for your counselling sessions. I will share my counselling contract for you to read and agree to.

We will book counselling sessions to work on your focus for therapy. I do recommend booking weekly for at least the first 4 sessions to strengthen our therapeutic bond and then flexibly booking weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Session frequency

Most people find that weekly sessions at the beginning help build a strong therapeutic relationship, so I usually recommend starting with four weekly sessions. After that, the pace is yours to choose. Some people continue weekly because they’re navigating ongoing difficulties; others prefer fortnightly or monthly sessions to give themselves space to reflect and practise what we discuss.

You’re welcome to change the frequency of your sessions at any point. I simply ask that we talk about it together first, so we can make sure the timing still supports your wellbeing and your goals.

Number of counselling sessions required

I offer short‑, medium‑ and long‑term counselling, depending on what feels most supportive for you. Short‑term work is usually focused and goal‑oriented, often centred around a specific difficulty or life event. Medium‑term therapy gives us more space to explore patterns, deepen insight and work through themes that take a little longer to unfold. Long‑term work is open‑ended, with no fixed number of sessions, allowing us to explore your inner world at a pace that feels spacious and grounding.

Whatever you choose, the process stays collaborative. As your needs change, we can revisit your original plan and adjust the length of our work together so it continues to feel right for you.

Counselling is NOT about crisis support

Counselling and the therapeutic relationship supports you when you are in the right place in life to talk and make connections.

It is NOT a crisis support service.
